We at Rio Moving take damage claims very seriously. We understand damage to personal belongings not only has materialistic value but also sentimental. We have created a simple and stress free claims process that not only makes it easy for our customers to put in their claim request but also helps us process all the information clearly in one go, which leads to a faster claim and refund.

 

All our customers are offered 2 damage cover options:

 

  1. Full Value Protection
  2. Released Value Protection

 

Full Value Protection: This is a complete insurance cover which is purchased separately at the time of reservation. This covers all your damaged items on the basis of the value of the items. This insurance cover is provided by third party insurance companies and if you have purchased your insurance separately, please submit your claim request by clicking the button below:

 

Released Value Protection: This is a basic damage cover that is offered to you for no additional cost. Every legit and registered mover needs to offer this damage cover to customers by default for no additional cost and the same is mandatory by the FMCSA under which every moving company is registered.

 

Under the Released Value Protection, the damage compensation is covered under the basis of $0.60 per pound (60 cents per pound). For Example: if your Dresser weighs 50 pounds and is purchased for $1000, In the instance if your Dresser is damaged, you will receive only $30 in compensation. Please check your signed contract to understand everything that is covered under the Released Value Protection. If a claim is submitted without reading the contract and is not covered under the "RVP" the claim will be automatically declined immediately.
